Mr. Shamim A. Firpo - President PUTCIC Meeting with H. E. Major General ® Athar Abbas Pakistan Ambassador designate to Ukraine: Pakistan and Ukraine have grate potential which must be explored and utilized by the business community of both the countries said by the PUTCIC President Mr. Shamim A. Firpo. H. E. Major General ® Athar Abbas, Pakistan’s Ambassador Designate to Ukraine visited Pak-Ukraine Trade & Culture Information Centre on Friday the 27 th November 2015 Mr. Shamim A. Firpo, President, PUTCIC warmly welcomed him and thanked him for accepting invitation to visit the Center. While discussing the matter of mutual interest, H.E. Major General ® Athar Abbas was very keen to know about the business related issues and opportunities in Ukraine, he also appreciated the exchange of delegations and trade related quires between both the countries. He said that there are many trade opportunities to be explored in the field of Agriculture, Steel & Iron and Defense Sectors. He emphasized on exchange of information. While discussing the business related issues, Mr. Shamim A. Firpo informed that the major issue which is being faced by the businessmen is getting visa to visit Ukraine. He suggested His Excellency to work on visa regime and make efforts to get some relaxation in visa policy for Pakistani Businessmen because visiting and meeting with each other is necessary to enhance business and tourism. Our all efforts go useless when business persons face hardships and do not get visa for business purpose. He said that visa must be granted on priority basis upon recommendation of Pak-Ukraine Trade & Culture Information Centre (PUTCIC) and Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) because they only recommend genuine business persons. Mr. Shamim A. Firpo said that, Ukraine has very advance technology in Agriculture sector we can increase our agriculture production by adopting these technologies. Mr. Shamim A Firpo also briefed him about the objective and services of the Centre. While concluding the meeting, it was mutually agreed that business community of both the countries may be facilitated to increase trade and business and visa should be given on priory for business purpose.

Pak-Ukraine Trade & Culture Information Center (PUTCIC) Participates at My Karachi: Oasis of Harmony International Exhibition 2015

Karachi 12th April 2015: Pakistan and Ukraine have grate potential which must be explored and utilized by the business community of both the countries said by the PUTCIC President Mr. Shamim A. Firpo. To promote Ukrainian economic potential in Pakistan, Pak-Ukraine Trade & Culture Information Center participated in 12th My Karachi Exhibition organized by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) from 10th to 12th April 2015 at Expo Centre Karachi. The three days exhibition attracted large numbers of visitors from all folk of life. PUTCIC stall received very warm response and appreciation notes and compliments from the visitors. Several foreign officials and local dignitaries and business persons visited the stall and shared their valuable time with PUTCIC. General visitors were also keen to know about Ukraine and its culture and visa procedures and facilities. Students were also interested in getting information about education facility in Ukraine. The main objective to establish the stall was to encourage Pakistani businessmen to do business with their Ukrainian counterparts and to explore Ukrainian market. During the exhibition, numbers of foreign officials, delegations, businessmen, and general visitors visited the stall and were willing to know about the Centre activities. Mr. Hadi Santoso, Consul General of Republic of Indonesia and his wife, Engr. M. A. Jabbar Honorary Consul to Ukraine at Karachi, Office Bearers of KCCI Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra-President, Mr. Ibrahim Kassumbi-Senior Vice President, Agha Shahab-Vice President and Managing Committee Members of KCCI and Mr. Muhammad Idrees, Chairman My Karachi Committee visited PUTCIC booth on Centre’s invitation. Mr. Shamim A Firpo President PUTCIC welcomed them at the stall and thanked them for visiting the stall and for sharing their valuable time at the Centre. Mr. Shamim A Firpo briefed the guests about the objective and services of the Centre. He said that PUTCIC is maintained by the Firpo Group of Companies and it is a nonprofit organization working to promote trade and industry between both the countries. While briefing about the Centre, he said that PUTCIC has close liaison with the embassy for providing trade and commercial information offered by the Ukraine suppliers to their counterparts in Pakistan. He urged Pakistan businessmen to take maximum advantage of huge opportunities and new business prospects between the two countries which will increase the bilateral trade volume. He also highlighted the role of Ukrainian embassy in Pakistan.

Ukraine sends Relief Goods for Flood Victims

Islamabad 01 May: In order to provide relief assistance to the affectees of floods 2010, government of Ukraine air lifted 387 packages/pieces (RCP) of 13050 Kgs of relief shipment to Pakistan. The Ukranian officials Sergii Levytskyi & Oleksandr Sulim handed over the relief cargo to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Logistic head, Lt Col (Retd) Muhammad Ali Kazi, TI (M) at Chaklala Airbase, Rawalpindi.
The relief shipment inventory included 7000 pieces of Blankets, 1000 pieces of Winter Jackets and 57919 packs/flasks of Medical preparations. This humanitarian shipment is to be followed by another relief cargo from Ukraine on the 5th of May. In addition to this, the President of Ukraine, H.E Victor Fedorovych Yanukovych has approved an amount of 5.191 Million HRV (Ukrainian Currency) for mitigating the hardships of the victims of Floods in Pakistan.
This expression of solidarity and gesture of goodwill by the friendly country of Ukraine will be instrumental in strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.

Second Ukrainian Relief Shipment for Flood Victims reaches Islamabad

Islamabad 04 May: The friendly country of Ukraine sent second consignment of humanitarian cargo for the victims of Floods 2010. The relief shipment consisted of 14821 Kgs of relief goods. Brig Sajid Naeem, Member Operations NDMA received the relief goods from the Ambassador of Ukrain HE Ihor Pasko at Chaklala Airbase, Rawalpindi. The officials from NDMA and Ukrainian Embassy were also present on the occasion.
The relief shipment inventory included 7000 pieces of Blankets and of 5000 Kgs of Javel-Clade (Water Treatment Means). On the 1st of May, 2011, the Ukrainian government had also sent 13050 Kgs of relief goods for the flood victims which consisted of 7000 Blankets, 1000 Winter Jackets & 57919 Packs/Flasks of Medical preparations. In addition to this, the President of Ukraine, H.E Victor Fedorovych Yanukovych has approved an amount of 5.191 Million HRV (Ukrainian Currency) for mitigating the hardships of the victims of Floods in Pakistan.
